When we talk about aseptic, we talk about safety and about the capability to supply on the market 100% of safe and sterile products in sterile containers. Finding reliable and capable suppliers is obviously fundamental for the companies which work with such products, in food or pharmaceutical fields.


Aseptic standard process includes the sterilization of the bottles before filling (internal and external), which implicates the use of chemicals like Oxonia (peroxyacetic acid / hydrogen peroxide) and water rinsing after treatment. This can be tricky when bottles present particular shapes with dead areas and it becomes difficult to assure that there is no residual chemical after treatment, which could alterate the final taste of the product.


To avoid this issue, a lot of companies opt for a technology which allows to directly feed the filling unit with sterile bottles, without the need of rinsing the inside part. The principle of aseptic blowing has been developed on TECHNE machines in 1992 and it is used on numerous dairy lines worldwide. It consists of a sophisticated system which filters the air used to form the bottles and which sterilizes the air piping circuit using steam and therefore without any chemical agent.


The result is a sealed and sterile bottle which comes out from the extrusion blow-moulding machine, before to be stored in silos or to be directly sent to the sterile chamber for filling.
